Ayurvedic Chanting on Zoom

In this class with Sunita, students chanted and learned Ayurvedic sutras. Sutra in Sanskrit means 'thread'. Words woven in a poetic manner are called sutras. Yoga and Ayurveda are written in the sutra format and have been passed down from one generation to the next, as an oral tradition. Later on, it was written down in the form of scriptures. Learning sutras is like decoding the hidden meaning behind our own lives.

Monday 4:30-5:00 on Zoom/February and March

Each class taught how to chant two verses correctly as well as the meaning of the verse. Students received the Sanskrit verse along with transliteration and and audio clip to practice at home. The Ashtanga Hridaya/Vagbhat as a scripture was used for the verses.
