Panchakarma - a recipe for better health |
Ayurveda uses two main modalities in the
treatment of disease-Shamana or palliative
and Shodhana or purification therapy.
Panchakarma is purification therapy, which
reverses the disease mechanism. Panchakarma
or five actions are the therapeutic means
of eliminating impurities from the body. It
is a series of five therapies or steps that
remove deep rooted stress, impurities and
toxins from physiology while balancing the
doshas - those energies or forces that governs
all biological functions. |
